RED: This is aimed at children from 4 - 8 years old. The red level is played on a badminton size court, using small rackets and foam balls. This is an ideal starting point for young beginners allowing them to work on basic technique and rules of tennis.
ORANGE: The orange level is the next stage with a three quarter size tennis court and soft transitional tennis balls being used. This allows players to build up confidence and strength in their strokes. At this stage it is also possible to see whether a player will be more suited to a fast track route. This stage is usually aimed at children aged 7 and upwards.
GREEN: The final stage of our mini tennis programme is played on a full size tennis court using a transitional ball. This stage is preparing the player for the move to the traditional high pressurised and higher bouncing ball. Players' rallying and matchplay skills will also be developed.
YELLOW: Yellow ball competition is for players aged 11 and over. It is played on a full tennis court, with full size rackets and full compression yellow balls. It’s the last stage of your tennis development and the technique and skills that you have developed through the stages of mini tennis can now be put into practice.
We also run numerous sessions throughout the week which cater for juniors of all ages who like to play tennis in a less intense environment. These sessions are a mixture of drills and match play.
